The University of Alaska Human Resources Department is recruiting for a Human Resources Coordinator to serve the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS). Located in Juneau, on the homelands of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples, UAS is a student-centered university dedicated to serving the coastal environments, cultures, economies, and communities of Alaska. As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide essential personnel, payroll, and recruitment services along with day-to-day Human Resources guidance to UAS departments. Key Responsibilities include:

 

• Manage payroll and personnel procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.

• Navigate collective bargaining agreements.

• Utilize payroll and human resource systems efficiently.

• Work with electronic spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.

• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Provide excellent interpersonal support in a fast-paced environment.

• Prioritize tasks and use good judgment to ensure smooth operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma. Some college coursework in Human Resources preferred.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau, AK, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
