Nanook Technology Services seeks a highly skilled, energetic and innovative executive assistant to join our team! This position will provide professional, confidential and proactive support for the Chief Information Officer, as this position will coordinate heavily with internal university and external partners on a daily basis. The successful candidate must be flexible and well organized to meet the demands of this office, utilizing excellent communication skills, including office coordination and project management skills, while bringing a positive approach to our team! This position provides administrative support to the UAF Chief Information Officer. This position will represent Nanook Technology Services (NTS) and works closely with the CIO and NTS upper management. NTS is the new name for UAF IT and user services team under the direction of the CIO. The successful applicant will need advanced professional experience in an administrative environment. You must have the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in a rapidly changing, complex, time-pressured environment. Using your excellent communication skills, both oral and written, you will be depended on to have the ability to use discretion and independent judgment in performing your major duties in working independently in an organized, efficient, and professional manner at all times. You will need to possess the ability to comprehend, interpret and apply written material such as policies and regulations, and other resource materials with the ability to meet deadlines and objectives with minimal supervision.

 

This position requires strong organization, prioritization, project management, and time management skills utilizing your ability to be flexible and adapt to emerging priorities and anticipate needs of the CIO. In order to accomplish the outlined tasks and priorities, you will need a working knowledge of computer information systems and applicable software and databases such as Banner, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to troubleshoot technological problems. Minimum Qualifications:

 

Associate's degree in a related field and two years increasingly responsible experience related to an Executive Assistant type of position. Position requires a high level of independence and ability to juggle priorities in tight timelines.

 

PREFERRED:

You should have four to five years of demonstrated progressive responsibility that includes higher level administrative duties, such as an Executive Assistant, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Understanding of higher education. Customer service and problem-solving experience.

 

Strong skills in organization, project management and advanced ability in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
