Are you looking to advance your career in Healthcare? The School of Nursing is seeking applications for a Skills Lab Assistant. This position requires a dynamic, organized and focused individual to work closely with the School of Nursing Staff, Faculty, and Students to ensure the Nursing Skills Lab operates efficiently and successfully.

As the School of Nursing Lab Skills Assistant, you will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating and the set up/clean-up of the Nursing Skills Lab activities. Under supervision from the Lab Skills Manager you will assist with the development, implementation and integration of laboratory experience for nursing students. Daily, you will maintain documentation of supplies and equipment needed for each lab course as well as tracking inventory, and ordering supplies when needed. The Lab Skills Assistant offers guidance and training to student workers and new staff or faculty. Additional duties include maintaining student computers and instructional software and other various tasks as assigned by Instructors and Coordinators.

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, as well as have a healthy understanding of Microsoft Office Programs, Google Drive, and other basic computer functions. Knowledge of Nursing or the Healthcare Field is a must, as is familiarity with medical equipment/supplies, and experience working with laboratory terminology, testing protocol and procedures. A candidate that is able to meet the demands associated with a busy laboratory environment and has a passion for healthcare and assisting in educating the next generation of Nurses in Alaska will be a fantastic addition to the School of Nursing Lab Skills team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum of six months in a healthcare setting or healthcare certification preferred (CNA, CMA, LPN, etc.).

Position Details:

This position is located on the Anchorage campus. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position, complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
