Position Summary:

Advancement is a dynamic, high energy, creative group of professionals dedicated to engaging the public to promote the university and our accomplishments. This position will assist the Senior Manager for Institutional Engagement and Events in ensuring campus wide events, including academic ceremonies, high level chancellor events and community partnership programs and activities are executed smoothly and effectively. If you have excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask and experience in providing clerical support within the university system, this position is for you! The successful part-time candidate can work a flexible hybrid schedule (remote and in person) although a minimum of two days are requested in office and at other events as needed.


To thrive in this role you should have excellent organization skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize duties, strong written and verbal communication skills, a proactive attitude and the ability to anticipate needs. Ability to represent the university with professionalism and collaborate well with other departments. Knowledge and familiarity with university systems and departments. Knowledge of event features, including planning, marketing and staffing. Demonstrated experience working in a professional office environment and providing clerical support.


Minimum Qualifications:


High school graduation and at least two years office/administrative experience. Associate Degree or higher preferred.


Applicant must possess an unrestricted Alaska driver's license or be able to obtain an unrestricted Alaska driver's license.


Position Details:


This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/files/fy24_temp_staff_salary_grid_ANC.pdf, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
