The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible to provide accounting, analysis and reporting to the organization and ensures that appropriate financial processes and systems are in place. Creates and maintains a culture of compliance and organizational excellence through collaboration with accounting and finance staff, operations and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Assist to complete external audit preparation and documentation by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepares monthly consolidated financial reports.

    Non - Essential Duties:

  • Assists in special projects
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Mentors and cross trains accounting clerk

Qualifications - Experience, Education and Licensure:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting related field
  • 3+ years as a senior level accountant required


  • CPA or CMA candidate a plus
  • Audit experience a plus
  • Deltek (Costpoint) experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel,  must be at a proficient level
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting systems in general
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment

Physical Requirements:

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.  On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift moderately light items up to 25 pounds. Near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard; lift horizontally and vertically.  Assignment may require travel and work assignments at other locations.  Travel may be of durations of a week or more and require air travel.

Working Conditions:

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise accounting clerk(s)

As a condition of employment, must have acceptable reference and background check results.
