JOB SUMMARY:

The Camp Attendant will work with the Superintendent to maintain an organized and safe camp area. He will generally work independently but maintain good communication with Anchorage Office alerting to any equipment needs / issues.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains the main camp This includes all repairs and routine maintenance, oil changes and cleaning the shop (if equipped).
  • Is responsible for minor repairs on doors, windows, sinks, toilets, etc.
  • Does safety inspections of both camp and location.  Maintains all escape routes to ensure timely escape in the case of an emergency.
  • In charge of fluid transfers (grey water, fuel, and water) and solid waste disposal at both camps.
  • Performs monthly critical items inspections at the camp, including monthly water sampling and documentation.
  • Assists with camp moves, including pre-move route inspection, permitting, camp sighting documentation, documentation of jack pressures, checks and repairs of the hydraulic system.
  • Assists catering staff with grocery delivery.

 

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position has no supervisory functions.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Conducts his job duties in compliance with Nordic HSET/HSE policies.
  • Works toward achieving Nordic’s annual HSET goals.
  • Assists Nordic Management in identifying operational non-conformances at the camp site.
  • Reports any spills on pad to Nordic Anchorage office immediately– including oil, water, glycol, drilling mud, dry mud products, etc.
  • Notifies Nordic HSE Manager of any environmental non-compliances immediately.
  • Reports any property or environmental damage by third-party vendors to Nordic Anchorage office immediately.
  • Assists in development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining waste management tracking system and hazardous waste determinations.
  • Assists in completing daily spill champion activities log.
  • Assists in any internal audits as necessary.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trained to Operate forklift.
  • Current Drivers license.
  • Must be functionally literate, able to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Familiarity with oilfield-related equipment and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug and background screening.

 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work requires walking, standard, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. May involve working with chemicals.

Normally inside enclosed cab, some noise but can wear earplugs.  Nordic Calista has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance.  At times, work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites.  Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes, and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
