Job title: Agriculture Program Assistant
Location: Anchorage, Alaska – Travel Possible
Terms: Full Time, Non-exempt
Salary/Rate: DOE
Requirements: This position is responsible for assisting with the administration of the agricultural program, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, grant research, travel arrangements, and gathering information for grant reports. PREFERED: Knowledge of rural Alaska’s environment, previous experience working with tribes, regional non-profits, or other Alaska-focused organizations.
About the role: The agriculture assistant works with the agriculture program conducting research, and assisting with the planning of agribusiness, food security, and conservation projects in rural Alaska.
Basic knowledge of agriculture and conservation is desired. Must be able to coordinate meetings, reports, and recording of accurate data. Must have good communication and writing skills, and be able to work independently, and with a diverse group of partners, co-workers, and individuals.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining plans, reports, and other documents
Coordinating meetings with stakeholders, partners, and others
Assisting with maintaining communication with partners, stakeholders, and others
Coordinating grant reports for the department
Interacting with stakeholders, potential partners, and funding resources in a professional manner
