Individuals Interested in Steel Fabrication and Structural Welding on the Job Training

Position Overview:

Busy welding shop looking to fill a position with on the job training to become a fabricator who will have the opportunity to become a structural welder. 

Our program is on the job training, beginning with a new employee who starts their career by learning all aspects of the fabrication process. From cutting and forming materials to using machines that punch, bevel and drill holes.  Individuals will also learn about measuring devices, identifying and organizing products and the packaging process of finished products.

Our Structural Welding Course focuses on an individual’s ability and desire to learn, the instructor works one on one and each lesson is geared towards the student’s ability. The timeline for each individual is flexible.  If the students are able to pass each individual section, they can become qualified to weld fillet welds in both the FCAW and GMAW processes within 1-2 months and a full penetration FCAW / GMAW welder in 3-6 months.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 to 30 pounds frequently, walk, stoop, squat, sit and kneel
• You should be in good physical condition and be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Our shop is team based so you must be reliable, arrive on time, and be ready to work
• Must be able to understand and apply basic math
• Ability to read & understand a tape measure
• Ability to multitask, follow basic instructions and work independently
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English
• Must be willing to work outside when required

Employee Benefits and Options:

• $20 per hour starting pay otherwise DOE and increases with welding qualifications
• 10-hours per day 4-days per week (7:00 am to 5:30 pm M to Th) with the high possibility of overtime

Pre-Hire Screening:

• Must have minimum amount of tools
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening (we do not test for THC)
  • Marijuana use during work hours will not be tolerated and we have onsite rapid testing if necessary

• Valid state driver’s license helpful (Transportation a must)
