Director of Programs

Reports to: Executive Director
Key Relationships: Board of Directors, STAR staff, Community and State agencies responding to sexual assault.
Position Summary: Work with the Executive Director and Program Managers to implement strategic and organizational planning needs, including grant research to acquisition, developing and updating polices and procedures, and ensuring staff and programs are in compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
Appreciate working across diverse communities
Ensure agency programs are in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines
Manage aspects of the grant development process including researching, writing, submitting and tracking grants
Hire, train and support program managers/coordinators, including annual evaluations.
Collaborate with program managers to address myriad of staff and program needs
Develop and submit funder and agency reports
Education, Training, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years of relevant experience and (4) Years of upper level management.
Preferred knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Knowledge of historical trauma and the effect of adverse childhood experiences
Knowledge of sexual assault, child sexual abuse and victim services
Knowledge of methods and practices of effective supervision
Knowledge of quality assurance and outcome measurements, data collection methods, and evaluation concepts for grant proposals
Ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, volunteers, and community partners
Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet multiple deadlines
Experience working in the non-profit or behavioral health field
Specifications: Valid U.S. work permit
Attend a 40-hour crisis line responder training / orientation within 6 months of hire. Rotating on-call and back-up crisis line coverage (including holidays) is required.
Wage/Benefits: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance is available to all regular employees along with SIMPLE IRA retirement program with 3% employer match and immediate vesting, plus a minimum of three weeks paid leave the first year of employment and 11 paid holidays.
