Job purpose
Alaska Garden and Pet Supply Fertilizer & Ice melt division is seeking an individual to effectively and efficiently manufacture high quality fertilizer and Ice melt in a timely manner. Qualified individuals must have a positive attitude toward safety, sales, customer service and employee team-work. This position has opportunity for growth within the company.
Duties and responsibilities
• Bag product and bulk bags out of the fertilizer plant. Fertilizer and Ice Melt Products.
• Daily cleaning inside of fertilizer plant, outside Bin area, Bulk Bag loading area, and Rail Spur.
• Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assigned tasks.
• Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
• 0-3 years Manufacturing in production facility experience
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED required
• Ability to apply common sense understanding, receive instructions, which can be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Preferred: Lock and Out Tag Out Certified (in house certification)
• Required: Forklift Trained (in house certification)
• Willing to work in a non-smoking facility.
Physical Demands
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and up to 80 lbs. on occasion. Use push stick to move railcars.
• Requires high level of physical activity for 8 hours a day.
• Position requires standing/walking on hard surface for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, crouch, reach overhead and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in a dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
Working Relationship
Works closely with Fertilizer Plant Manager and other fertilizer plant and warehouse employees. Requires ability to work as a team player with all company employees and management. Salary / Benefits
Salary: DOE starts at $17/HR
