General Summary:  The Occupational Health/ Drug & Alcohol Technician (OH/D&A Tech) is a multi-faceted role primarily responsible for supporting drug and alcohol collections, data entry, filing of referrals/chains of custody and occupational health testing procedures.

Schedule: We are seeking a full-time position at our clinic in Kenai, AK working up to 40 hrs./week based on project activities at the Kenai Training Center.

Essential Job Functions:  There are two components to this position:

Drug and Alcohol- The primary role includes performing drug and alcohol collections as needed to support the D&A team, ensuring supplies are stocked as needed and processing of forms related to resulting.  

Occupational Health- Responsible for assisting with some occupational health testing procedures in the Kenai clinic as well as some on-site field testing, performing data entry of testing results, running compliance reports for clients, supporting the medical providers with their patients as needed.

Other duties as necessary.

Job Requirements - Education and Training:

  • High school education required
  • EMT-1, EMT-2, EMT-3, Paramedic, or LPN certification preferred
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft programs required

Contingencies:

Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment physical, fitness for duty assessment, drug testing (federal panel), background check and motor vehicle report.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

Work conditions are such that significant time will be spent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and include some lifting. Exposure to body fluids, sharps, and other health care occupational hazards is routine. Conditions will include exposure to hospital grade cleaning solutions, flammable solutions and gases, e.g., alcohol and oxygen, as well as latex and other industrial chemicals.
