Tribal Victim Services (TVS) Program Support Specialist
Full -time (37.5 hours per week) Rate of Pay: $17.90 - $19.55/hr DOE Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Duties: This position will provide administrative and technical support for APIA’s Tribal Victim Services program which emphasizes culturally based services for victims of crime. Primary duties are to assist with collecting data for grant reporting, assist with planning and implementation of cultural gatherings, participate in project meetings and planning sessions, record meeting minutes, organize and maintain grant related data and program files, participate in Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) approved training, assist with development of culturally relevant media, including training to assist with the development of brochures, flyers, and media, perform general administrative tasks, and travel to the Aleutian Pribilof Island Region to implement cultural gatherings.
Qualifications: Two (2) years administrative support experience or two (2) years of experience
working in human, social services, or related fields. Will consider candidates enrolled in a Rural Human
Services Certificate program. Work experience in a tribal office, non-profit sector, or in the victim
services field a plus. Knowledge of office practices and procedures with the ability to operate
Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and basic office equipment. Database or Adobe
Creative Cloud experience a plus. Ability to work independently and in cooperation with colleagues
from a variety of cultures and communities. Knowledge of the Unangax̂/Aleut culture and the
Aleutian Pribilof Islands history and region preferred. Willing to take training and attend workshops
and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
