Customer Service Agents support this vision by providing superior customer service to patrons and clients, maintaining a professional work environment, supporting all members of the team and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of CenterTix, the official box office for Alaska arts and service of Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (including, but not limited to)

1.0 Customer Service

1.1 Demonstrate knowledge of ticketing policies, procedures, clients and venues

1.2 Make customers feel welcome and demonstrate enthusiasm for the Performing Arts

1.3 Provide suitable solutions for ticketing needs of clients/customers

1.4 Remain calm during busy periods and stressful situations

1.5 Commit to resolving customer and client complaints

1.6 Collaborate and communicate effectively with the CenterTix team for support in all duties

2.0 Ticket Office Functions

2.1 Provide excellent customer/client engagement and communication including answering call center phones, staffing box office windows, responding to emails and virtual chats, etc.

2.2 Process ticket transactions (subscriptions, single tickets, exchanges, refunds, etc.)

2.3 Assist in training new ticket office staff

2.4 Assist with processing ticket office items, such as will call, outgoing mail, etc.

2.5 Process daily reporting and reconciliations as directed

2.6 Provide administrative support including, but not limited to, updating documentation, filing and other clerical work as assigned

3.0 Other duties as required

 

JOB TITLE: Customer Service Agent

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of help desk experience or 2 years of customer service experience (box office experience preferred)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Proficiency with PC compatible computers and applications
  • Demonstrate effective communication both written and spoken
  • Desire to be productive
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Quickly evaluate situations and make appropriate decisions
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting math

Other Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Enthusiasm for the Performing Arts
  • Desire to work in a nonprofit organization

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

  • Stand, sit, stoop, walk and climb stairs
  • Lift or move 25 lbs.; occasionally moves 50 lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Usual office surroundings
