IAC is looking for a Part-Time/Relief Advocate to join our team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to provide crisis intervention, systems advocacy, and support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Minimum Qualifications include an Associates degree in Human Services or closely related field; sufficient job, school or life experience may be used in lieu of the education. The ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to be flexible in a fast-paced teamwork environment. An advocate will have experience handling sensitive issues in a mature and confidential manner with integrity and compassion, the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, a commitment to the agency’s mission and goals, and the ability to pass a background check. The candidate must also be able to work nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associates degree in Human Services or closely related field; sufficient job, school, or life experience may be used in lieu of the Associate's degree
· Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills
· Proficient with computers and ability to do data entry
· Ability to handle sensitive issues in a mature, confidential manner with integrity and compassion
· Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles
· Commitment to agency mission and goals
· Ability to pass a background check
