Unguwat Youth Navigator and Transportation Safety

JOB STATEMENT/PURPOSE: Part Time Youth Navigator and Transportation. 

Duties of this position would include coordinating Alaska Native young adults (18-24 years old) to events, workshops (49 Days of Ceremony, etc.), and logistical communications for transportation and segueing information to the Unguwat Coordinator for Behavioral Health services as mandatory reporters. This proposed position collaboratively assists the Unguwat Program Coordinator and Program Manager for events and logistical communications for events both internal and with external partners.

The Individual hired for this position will also be responsible for the safe transportation of Alaska Native young adults to and from locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transportation:

  1. Safely transports program participants, as scheduled or as needed
  2. Drops off and picks up ANHC vehicles for repair, tire changes, car washing, and fueling.
  3. Willing and able to work pre-scheduled overtime as needed, some nights and week-ends. 

Safety:

  1. Follow state mandates and guidelines pertaining to COVID-19.
  2. Familiar with Safety Manual
  3. Familiar with Emergency Radio Codes. Assist with the security of the center as needed.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  1. Must be able to operate a 15-passenger van.
  2. Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  3. Valid Alaska driver’s license.  Must have clean driving record. Class C CDL preferred. Must be able to pass drug test and background check.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Additional duties as assigned based on needs of the business.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Weather:

  1. Indoors: Primarily in an environmentally controlled office;
  2. Outdoors: Ability to work outside in all weather conditions typical for Anchorage Alaska Summers.

Noise level:

  1. Quiet to loud.

Physical requirements:

  1. Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  2. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
