Salary Range: 65K+ DOE                                        Supervisor: Executive Director

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide services as a central clearinghouse on resource questions within the Bethel area, act as an informational center, and investigate/advocate for Tribal interests in specific cases ranging from State, Federal and Village corporations
  • Supervise Environmental and Fisheries program leads and other employees employed by ONC Natural Resources Department in compliance with ONC’s Personnel Policy. 
  • Provide oversight of all Natural Resource program budgets and reports and ensure grant compliance for all Natural Resource programs
  • Actively seek grant opportunities that align with the Natural Resource Department mission
  • Creatively expand and build upon the current Natural Resource Department programs through building partnerships and seeking and securing funding through diverse sources
  • Work closely with the Orutsararmiut Native Council members, Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Kuskokwim River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission and U.S Fish & Wildlife Service on all Kuskokwim fish and game resource issues
  • Facilitate quarterly ONC Subsistence Committee meetings
  • Attend all State, Federal and Inter-Tribal Fish & Game meetings regarding Fish & Game management 

 

Work experience: 

Supervisory experience, budget management, demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstration of knowledge of State and Federal Fish & Game regulations and ability to effectively communicate regulations to the public, ability to anticipate and analyze natural resource policy trends, demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in small and large group settings. Willingness to work outdoors, ability to travel, willingness to represent ONC in a professional manner at all times, works collaboratively with ONC Natural Resources staff

 

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant work experience may be substituted. 3-5 years of work experience in the natural resources field.
