Advocate Case Manager I/II/III – The Alaska Native Justice Center (ANJC) is recruiting for Advocate Case Manager I/II/III positions. As an Advocate Case Manager help support and provide assistance to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all participants, but especially Alaska Natives and American Indians, in the judicial system.

 

The Alaska Native Justice Center (ANJC) seeks to promote justice through culturally-based advocacy, prevention, and intervention initiatives to restore dignity, respect, and humanity to all Alaska Native people. ANJC addresses Alaska Native peoples' unmet needs within the Alaska civil and criminal justice system. Our services include education, restorative justice, victim advocacy, and legal support and representation. We also serve Alaska Tribes through legal representation in ICWA matters and training and technical assistance for tribal justice. All ANJC initiatives are rooted in Alaska Native culture:

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence/sexual assault, interpersonal violence and Human Trafficking
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the social, health, education and training and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian
  • Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations and make sound judgments.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • One to two years’ experience in social services, workforce development, vocational counseling or education, or related experience

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with staff and community partners to develop, maintain and report goals and collect data from community partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the leadership team to monitor grant required information and strategic planning processes.
  • Provide participants/victims with resources and activities to provide healthy lifestyle opportunities. 
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as directed.
  • Provide direct assistance to participants within the legal system.
  • Obtain and track data based on grant requirements. 
  • Provide advocacy services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and/or human trafficking.
  • Coordinate with community providers to refer services for participants, including but not limited to: resources for housing, employment, food, clothing, health care, behavioral health, and substance use treatment.

 

The Location: Cook Inlet Tribal Council is based in Anchorage, Alaska.
