JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:         Clinical Supervisor, Residential     

Department:    Recovery Services / Ernie Turner Center     

Reports To:     Residential Manager     

Supervises:      Residential Clinical Staff     

FLSA Status:  Exempt     

Pay Grade:      E5

Job Type:        Full-Time, Regular   

  

General Functions: 

The Residential Clinical Supervisor will have responsibility of clinical services at the residential program including operation in congruence with the treatment philosophy, approach and service delivery model in compliance with State and CARF standards, along with monitoring and achievement of program goals and objectives.  

  

Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to: 

  • Monitors clinical systems for adherence to the therapeutic community and system of care, while providing training needs to continue integrity of the Therapeutic Village of Care (TVC) model. 
  • Responsible for hiring, managing performance, training and development, and overall supervision for assigned clinical staff. 
  • Approves and monitors all clinical progress notes, treatment plans, diagnosis, intakes, discharge summaries, and file review for discharge/transfer for clinical accuracy and timeliness. 
  • Trains, oversees and provides guidance for entering clinical documentation within the Recovery Services Case Management System (RSCMS). 
  • Works in collaboration with Intervention and Intake teams to ensure referrals are screened and appropriate for services, intakes from waitlist are scheduled, and caseloads are filled.  
  • Ensure adherence with program policies and procedures. 
  • Works with Program Supervisor to ensure adherence to all components of TVC.  
  • Maintains a working relationship with Village Council (VC) to assist with TVC model and VC structure. 
  • Ensure participant self-administration of medication adheres to policy and procedures.   
  • Gives input to the operating policies and procedures of the residential treatment program as needed. 
  • Assists in providing information, as needed, for reports; including, dashboard, board reports, state quarterlies and annual grant continuations. 
  • Fulfills responsibilities during staff vacancies. 
  • Other duties as needed and/or assigned 
  • Maintains a respectful relationship with patients, former participants, and family members. 
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times in accordance with 42CFR Part 2 and HIPAA requirements. Protects the privacy of all patient information in accordance with CITC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider.
  • Actively participate in CITC’s privacy training and communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients and others in accordance with CITC policy.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with CITC staff and supports management of the organization. 
  • Participates in scheduled external/internal meetings and trainings as requested. 

    

Job Specifications: 

  • Strong competency in addictions and knowledge of ASAM criteria. 
  • Strong competency in addictions and knowledge of DSM-5 Substance Use criteria. 
  • Strong competence, knowledge and understanding of addiction and co-occurring disorders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage crises. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. 
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct group therapy. 
  • Knowledge of cultural and spiritual values and how they relate to Alaska Natives and American Indians. 
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate delivery of services meeting dosage and patient care requirements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and offer effective clinical direction. 
  • Strong problem solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use advanced word processing, spreadsheets and other office machines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities. 

  

Minimum Core Competencies: CITC Values, Professionalism, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving/Critical Thinking, Communication Skills.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field, or Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification Level II. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirement(s) on a year-for-year basis. Incumbents must possess a Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification Level II within one-year of start date.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in providing services to the behavioral health population. 
  • One year direct experience in addictions and co-occurring treatment.  
  • Two years supervisory or management experience. 
  • Experience working with Alaska Native people, knowledge of their values and belief systems, and ability to provide culturally competent services.  
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License preferred and be insurable under CITC’s automotive insurance. 
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check. 

  

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in the above fields, or related field.
  • Chemical Dependency Counselor Supervisor Certification
  • Documented Trauma Informed Trained.
