The Nature Conservancy in Alaska is dedicated to saving the lands and waters on which all life depends. For more than 30 years, TNC has pursued this mission in partnership with local people and organizations to create lasting, on-the-ground solutions to the most challenging environmental problems facing communities across Alaska. Due to an advancement within TNC, the Alaska program is recruiting a Deputy Director.

The Deputy Director is responsible for setting strategic goals for the organization, serving as a member of the program’s leadership team, setting organizational financial performance standards, raising operating funds, supervising team members, staff hiring, and representing the organization in the public sphere. The Deputy Director is committed to a positive, collaborative and results-driven culture and invests in cooperative working relationships within the organization and with a diverse set of partners including Alaska Native Corporations, Tribes, tribal organizations, industry, state and federal government agencies and other conservation organizations. The Deputy Director assists the State Director with overall program success.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience including senior level administration, experience in working with diverse staff and partners, superb communication skills, experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, and experience in developing  program-wide strategies.

Compensation includes a starting salary range of $107,000-$112,000. TNC offers a generous benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, paid leave and flexible work arrangements.
