Job Summary: The Audio Video Specialist's role is to support the organization's audio/video services and keep them running smoothly. This includes integrating livestreaming services in organization sponsored events; coordinating and facilitating VTC calls; Training staff on the use of different Audio/Video technologies; and performing day-to-day support of the organization's Audio Video portfolio. The Audio Video Specialist will be assisting with large scale, cross-functional projects, relevant research, and will work closely with the Senior Audio Video Engineer and other TCC teams to ensure the success of each project.

Representative Duties: Under general supervision of the IT Operations Manager job incumbent will:

1. Set up and operate A/V and VTC equipment such as microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, wiring, cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as conventions, summits, meetings and other events as required.

2. Set up and operate production lighting as needed for events and functions.

3. Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality, test and resolve equipment issues, diagnose and correct sound system problems.

4. Coordinate audio feeds and broadcast images, mix sound inputs and remote feeds.

5. Ensure safe storage and integrity of data. Ensure safe storage of equipment and keep equipment clean and ready for deployment.

6. Support conference rooms and digital signage equipment at all TCC campuses.

7. Maintain inventory of equipment using current department asset manager.

8. Resolve incoming tickets from end users needing A/V and VTC support.

9. Participate in the design, development, and delivery of A/V and VTC training programs/classes.

10. Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. College degree or equivalent work experience in the fields of computer science, information systems, or audio video support. Certifications preferred.

2. Hands-on experience with video teleconference systems, webcasting events, and/or digital signage.

3. 2 years' experience in the field of audio visual technologies.

4. Must pass background check pursuant to Federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

5. Broad knowledge of VoIP, audio video equipment, techniques and multimedia communication standards.

6. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

7. In-depth, hands-on experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including Microsoft operating systems, and Microsoft productivity software.

8. Direct support of conference rooms and digital signage solutions.

9. Demonstrated experience with installation, maintenance, and operation of audio visual equipment for event broadcasting.

10. Ability to develop, present, and maintain technical documentation.

11. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

12. Ability to train staff and users on the use and application of audio video technologies.

13. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical terms to non-technical audiences.

14. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical demands: Must be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds in support of supplies. Must be able to access hardware in cramped locations. Cables and electrical cords must be installed and might require stooping, kneeling, and/or crawling. Some weekend and evening work may be required. Extensive computer usage. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions in fast paced work environment under pressure and with frequent deadlines. Must be able to drive, as work can be in different buildings.

Summation: This position is an integral part of the IT department. This individual must be multi-talented, and be able to constructively work as a team.
