Summary:
Under direct supervision, provides support and services for the retrieval, scanning, handling and archiving of medical records. Serves as an information resource for hospital, medical staff, and others throughout ANMC.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for analyzing and maintaining scanned documents within the electronic health record to ensure quality and accuracy. Retrieves all documentation from hospital floors and outlining clinics. Analyzes, prepares, scans, and indexes patient records into the electronic health record (EHR) to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness.
Demonstrates competence using standard operating office equipment, electronic computer information systems, and the EHR to meet daily department and employee performance goals. Must be able to meet and maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy standards within six months of hire.
Uses critical thinking skills to assist with prioritization, organization, and execution of daily activities in accordance with department guidelines.
Reconciles paper documents received against records that have been scanned to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Provide technical and administrative assistance for other health information services functions.
Retrieve electronic medical records for internal and external requests.
Provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient records.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
