Job Title: Paul Williams House Residential Care Coordinator

Job Summary: Job incumbent is responsible for the day, night, or weekend management and operation of the TCC Paul Williams House apartment facility. Assists adult clients diagnosed with chronic mental illness with activities of daily living, individual and group skills development, crisis counseling and other supportive services.

Adhere to the TCC  Ch'eghwtsen' model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.

Representative Duties: Under direct supervision of the Case Manager/Paul Williams House Supervisor, job incumbent will:

1. Provide shift coverage at the Paul Williams House as assigned. Assures that all residents adhere to facility policy and procedures.

2. Provide high quality functional assessments, individual and group skills development and case management to assist/teach seriously mental ill clients with behavioral health, social skills, recreations, recreational, self-maintenance and daily living. Facilitate and schedule individual and group comprehensive community support services for Paul Williams House clients.

3. Provide clinical documentation in TCC behavioral health electronic records and maintain administrative records in compliance with the State of Alaska Medicaid regulations and any other state and federal regulating statues as required by program procedure and policy.

4. Closely monitor resident's behavior and document in chart or daily log. Report observations and problems to the appropriate Case Manager and Supervisor in emergency situations.

5. Monitor client usage of medicines in appropriate logs and ensures that clients take medicines according to prescription.

6. Perform housekeeping chores in staff office, bathroom, kitchen and common areas after each shift. Laundry as needed. Maintain inventory of supplies as needed.

7. Ensures maintenance of safety and sanitary conditions in client apartments; teach or assists, if necessary, with housekeeping chores in client living areas.

8. Report needed repairs and maintenance to supervisor.

9. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

10. Must maintain strict client confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2. One year training or education in counseling, behavioral health and or social services.

3. Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Strong computer skills; i.e. electronic records, publisher, excel, word-processing software programs and e-mail.

2. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to problem solve dilemmas and crisis situations.

3. Ability to relate well to individual diagnosed with a serious mental illness.

4. Knowledge and ability to adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.

5. Knowledge of Medicaid third Party Billing preferred.

6. Familiarity with Alaska Native cultures and rural lifestyles required.

7. Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical demands: Job incumbent needs dexterity for walking up/down stairs and housekeeping duties. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds in supplies. Must be able to climb stairs as program is a 2-story building with elevator, must be able to stoop, kneel and crawl to perform housekeeping chores.

Summation: Job incumbent must be available to work outside of traditional work hours due to 24 hours supervised housing program (hours worked may be day, evening, nights and weekends) must be able to work on short notice and in a sometimes stressful environment. Incumbent has daily contact with disabled clients, needs to be able to problem solve dilemmas and crisis and communicate effectively.
