This is a remote position, working a rotational schedule in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Contract Shop Foreman to lead operations across multiple 24-hour shop locations, overseeing a workforce of approximately 102 employees. This role provides day-to-day supervision, technical direction, and operational management of shop work crews in all aspects of maintenance and repair of heavy duty and light duty equipment in a remote Arctic oilfield environment.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader capable of coordinating across shifts, locations, and teams while driving performance, accountability, and alignment with company safety and quality standards.
Essential Job Functions:
Operations & Shop Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations, workflow, and scheduling across multiple shop locations operating 24/7.
Evaluate shop personnel across all shifts, including heavy and light duty mechanics, field oilers, and tire tech.
Provide technical directions to work crews and assign appropriate resources to daily workload.
Examine work and materials for compliance with company specifications and quality standards.
Manage shop performance metrics including turnaround time, equipment uptime, and work quality.
Perform craft job duties as required.
Manage scheduling for repairs, preventive maintenance, and shop priorities.
Control costs, inventory, and approve purchases, track labor costs versus budget.
Maintain vendor and supplier relationships across locations.
Handle escalated issues and major service decisions.
Visit all areas of responsibility and job sites daily.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting to management.
Maintain accurate muster point headcount across all locations.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA, North Slope, and company health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.
Accountable for safe work practices, toolbox meetings, and safety training compliance.
Routinely perform safety and productivity observations, shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
Attend various components of technical, developmental, and safety training.
Demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system.
Personnel & Administration:
Lead and manage a workforce of approximately 102 employees across multiple locations and shifts.
Act as mentor and provide feedback to team members and new employees.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and expectations.
Ensure training and certifications for all shop personnel remain current.
Support development and performance improvement of team members; train, direct, and assess employees' knowledge in equipment repairs.
Review and approve schedule adjustments across shifts and locations.
Submit personnel changes to Fleet Analyst including name, date, and nature of change (resignations, shift changes, role changes, etc.).
Payroll:
Review and approve timesheets and hours worked.
Approve and track overtime and holdovers.
Verify pay rates and job classifications.
Resolve payroll issues with the payroll team.
Approve PTO and leave requests affecting shop coverage.
Track labor costs against budget.
Maintain payroll records for compliance.
Coordinate payroll setup for new hires.
Travel Coordination:
Approve travel requests.
Coordinate schedules, flights, and travel changes.
Review and approve travel expenses, lodging, and transportation.
Monitor travel costs against budget.
Approve emergency travel as needed.
Reporting & Communication:
Provide regular operational updates and reports to both Worley and Hilcorp leadership.
Track and communicate shop performance metrics across all locations.
Manage daily schedules and attend related meetings.
Maintain clear communication with leadership and support teams.
Standard Clause:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of diesel theory, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of heavy and light duty equipment preventive maintenance.
Knowledge of and experience in lubrication procedures for all types of heavy and light duty equipment common to heavy construction and oilfield service industries.
Proficiency in computerized shop maintenance systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to supervise and direct large, multi-shift teams across multiple locations.
Ability to develop and maintain efficient and effective working relationships.
Ability to train, direct, and assess employees' knowledge in equipment repairs.
Ability to read, understand, and communicate information relating to safety/technical manuals, procedures, permits, JSAs (Job Safety Analysis), and safety/warning signs.
Strong oral communication skills to give and receive emergency instructions, safety warnings, and task assignments.
Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements including policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Ability to hear audible safety alarms and warnings.
Ability to safely climb ladders of various heights.
Ability to use hands and fingers with sufficient dexterity to perform close, exacting, and repetitive tasks.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.

Oversight of multiple 24-hour shop operations across different locations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of (10) years' experience as a heavy and/or light equipment mechanic.
Minimum (3) years’ supervisory experience directing an average crew size of five or more.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by company auto insurer.
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification (company can provide training if needed).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing operations in a 24/7 or remote North Slope environment.
Background in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance (automotive and/or heavy equipment fleet).
Familiarity with shop management or maintenance software systems.
Experience overseeing large teams (50+ employees) across multiple locations and shifts.
