Job Summary: This position will oversee all internal and external communication for TCC to ensure messaging is consistent, relevant, and engaging. This position oversees and directs communications and marketing projects and professionals under their supervision.

Adhere to the TCC Ch'eghwtsen' model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.

Representative Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Communications, job incumbent:

1. Manages content and marketing strategies in collaboration with other communications division members to conceptualize, develop, execute and manage content.

2. Readily identifies stakeholders for responding to or advancing issues in the private and public arenas.

3. Builds and maintains solid partnerships with departments and programs to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet business goals.

4. Identifies and presents opportunities for consistency in messaging and customer experience across channels.

5. Prepares and implements timely marketing and communication plans.

6. Oversees or directly participates production of TCC publications.

7. Develops weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports.

8. Develops program measures for monitoring communication improvements over time.

9. Assists in working across the TCC organization to educate organization leaders and directors on departmental and division responsibilities for communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

11. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism or Communications, OR a combination of equivalent work related experience and education.

12. Familiarity with interior Alaska village tribal governments and rural, Alaska Native issues, cultural history and strong knowledge of ANSCA.

13. Advanced computer skills required, with proficiency that may include page layout, graphics, and word processing and related illustrative applications.

14. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

15. Demonstrated skill in leading teams and successfully influencing managers and leaders to act on program or behavior changes.

16. Demonstrated skills in writing including white papers, preparation of information and materials for publications; editing; development of illustrative graphics for stakeholder presentations.

17. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical demands: Frequent village travel is required. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty pounds in support of equipment. Must be able to work in a busy and sometimes stressful environment.Summation

Summation: High level communication skills and ability to advance interest of Tanana Chiefs Conference and the tribes and people served. Ability to successfully influence managers and leaders in the organization resulting in improved measurable communication throughout the organization.

This is a senior management position with internal and external stakeholder responsibilities.
