Position Summary
The Government Enterprise Coordinator serves as a key liaison and administrative coordinator between the Native Village of Eklutna Tribal Government (NVE) and the Eklutna Gaming Authority (EGA) including Chin’an Gaming Hall. This position ensures transparency and efficiency between governmental priorities and economic development and enterprise initiatives by coordinating scheduling, communication, agendas, critical document organization and strategic planning. The coordinator also manages NVE Council and EGA Board governance processes, supports economic development planning, and organizes meetings and events that advance the Tribe’s sovereignty, culture, and long-term sustainability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Government & Enterprise Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between Tribal Government (NVE) leadership and the Economic Development Authority (EGA).
- Facilitate communication, collaboration, and efficiency in strategic priorities and transactions.
- Track and ensure follow-through on initiatives, directives, and projects.
- Support integration of EGA economic development efforts with NVE tribal governance policies.
2. Policy, Resolution & Ordinance Coordination
- Coordinate development, review, approval, and implementation of tribal policies, resolutions, and ordinances with designated officials and staff.
- Ensure documents are properly formatted, completed, and routed for approval.
- Maintain official records and tracking systems for all NVE Council and EGA Board actions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable tribal, federal, state, and municipal requirements.
3. Board & Governance Support
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate NVE/EGA and related meetings.
- Prepare agendas, board packets, resolutions, and supporting materials.
- Record and distribute meeting minutes and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Ensure adherence to governance procedures, bylaws, and transparency standards.
- Ensure and maintain strict confidentiality as appropriate in all matters relating to NVE oversight and EGA business undertakings.
4. Meeting & Event Planning
- Organize and coordinate meetings, workshops, and events related to NVE and EGA initiatives.
- Support community engagement events, partner meetings, and investment discussions.
- Manage logistics including scheduling, venues, travel, and materials.
- Coordinate presentations and briefing materials for leadership and stakeholders.
5. Strategic & Administrative Support
- Assist in implementing economic development initiatives and projects.
- Conduct research and compile reports to support decision-making.
- Track key initiatives, deadlines, and deliverables across government and enterprise entities.
- Support grant applications, funding opportunities, and partnership development.
6. Intergovernmental & Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for external partners, agencies, and investors.
- Coordinate meetings with federal, state, and local officials and entities as needed.
- Support relationship-building efforts that advance tribal interests.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Tribal Governance, Economic Development, or related relevant field of study
- 3–5 years of experience (may include up to 2 years of academic studies beyond bachelor’s degree) in administration, government operations, economic development, or related relevant field.
- Experience working with tribal governments, enterprises, or boards preferred.
- Knowledge of tribal sovereignty and governance structures.
- Familiarity with board governance and meeting procedures and administration.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage timeliness with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of policy development and governmental processes.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Required Work Cards
- Successful Licensing with Eklutna Tribal Gaming Commission.
Working Conditions
- Office environment with frequent coordination across departments.
- Occasional evening or weekend meetings.
- Travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or events.
