GVEA is an electric cooperative that maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, which extends from Homer to Fairbanks. YOUR ROLE AS A PROJECT MANAGER

As a Project Manager at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will oversee and deliver large-scale capital projects that support power generation, transmission, distribution, and substation systems. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, and executing projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You will coordinate closely with internal teams, contractors, and engineers, as well as external stakeholders, to drive project success while reviewing vendor proposals, contracts, and construction bids.

You will play a key role in maintaining project performance by monitoring costs, timelines, and quality standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and construction practices. Additionally, you will support outage coordination, provide technical guidance, and help resolve operational challenges related to power systems. Your work will also involve leading quality assurance efforts, maintaining accurate project documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

To excel in this role, candidates should bring strong technical expertise and proven project leadership experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

• 3–8 years of relevant professional experience

• Experience in power generation, transmission & distribution, or related fields

• Demonstrated project management experience

• Valid Alaska Driver's License
