We are searching for an experienced Human Resources Generalist at our Palmer HQ facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The fundamental purpose of this position is to perform significant duties in professional HR disciplines. Other duties include participating in the development of and administering of company policies and procedures; ensuring that the records of the Human Resources department are accurate and complete. General operational oversight is provided by the Human Resources Manager. The ability to be discreet with proprietary information while maintaining files and records in a highly confidential manner is critically important.

Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
Substitution:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and any combination of post-secondary education or progressively responsible experience in human resources or a related field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Post graduate education in the field or a related field may substitute for the required non-specialized experience on a year-for-year basis.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Three years of professional human resources experience, two years of which must include progressively responsible experience in benefits administration.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
State of Alaska driver’s license.

None
EFFECT OF ERROR:
Errors in employee's normal work activity may put employer at substantial risk. Most errors can be substantially corrected within one year after identification. Correction may require a high level of disruption of normal resource allocations in other departments as well as their own.
JOB SCOPE:
The individual employee will perform a multiplicity of functions or professional procedures which go beyond repetitive operations. The tasks assume a greater complexity; they are likely to require creativity and a demonstration of vocational and/or professional initiative. The ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time is essential.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:
Job responsibilities are mostly non-routine and may involve issues affecting several MTA departments. Problem solving requires considerable research and analysis. Independent judgment may establish precedent, committing capital and resources, within MTA.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposed to unpleasant and stressful conditions, usually on a frequent basis, due to investigations resulting in adverse employment actions against fellow employees. Fast paced working environment often requiring rapid transition, change and focus. Normal job duties may put employee at risk of retaliation by current and past employees, as well as other external entities.
