The Eyak Foundation -- Program Manager

The Eyak Foundation is seeking an experienced and motivated Program Manager to support our mission of uplifting Eyak Shareholders and Descendants through educational opportunities, cultural revitalization, and community investment. This primary staff role oversees day-to-day operations including scholarships, cultural programming, communications, fundraising, and growth toward self-sustainability, in collaboration with The Eyak Corporation.

The ideal candidate builds strong relationships with Shareholders, Descendants, students, Elders, and partners while demonstrating respect for Alaska Native culture and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer scholarship programs: assist with applications, maintain records, manage online portal, and coordinate payments.
  • Plan cultural classes, workshops, events, and community outreach with Trustees, Elders, and partners.
  • Handle administration, finance, compliance, communications, fundraising, donor stewardship, and Trustee support.
  • Build processes for organizational independence and supervise interns/volunteers as needed.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Experience in program management, nonprofit administration, education services, or community programs.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage deadlines and multiple responsibilities independently.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and digital tools proficiency.
  • Commitment to Alaska Native communities with respectful engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with Alaska Native culture, history, and values.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Alaska Native Corporations, foundations, scholarships, or cultural engagement.
  • Background serving Eyak Shareholders/Descendants, scholarships, or events.
  • Grant writing, donor relations, accounting, or related degree.

Location
Anchorage or Cordova preferred (hybrid/remote considered). Full-time, exempt, occasional travel.
