What does Brice Pacific LLC do?

Brice Pacific specializes in construction projects primarily for federal clients in Alaska, the lower-48, and select international markets. Our work extends from remote Alaskan villages to Pacific islands and encompasses a wide range of services, including specialty structures, civil work, federal buildings, laboratories, and aircraft hangars. What can you expect?

As the Superintendent, you will work onsite in rural Alaska and will directly supervise and coordinate field personnel and daily construction operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role collaborates with design teams, coordinates project mobilization and demobilization, supervises craft workers, and ensures worksite safety and quality. You will drive the project schedule and direct subcontractors at the project site. Responsibilities include scheduling and assigning work, inspecting progress, maintaining operational records, coordinating with contractors and departments, and supporting workforce needs.

 

How will you do it?

  • Assist and coordinate with the Construction Program Manager to manage field personnel to complete tasks on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with design firm to ensure a timely and complete design is created within project scope and budget.
  • Plan and orchestrate project mobilization and demobilization, addressing site access, staging, logistics, and environmental constraints.
  • Supervise and direct craft workers and subcontractor teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, safety compliance, and quality standards.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, and materials for quality, safety, and conformance to contract documents.
  • Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
  • Address on-site challenges and adjust plans proactively for weather, supply chain delays, or logistical constraints.
  • Plan and coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and compliance with contracts, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in or lead site meetings with clients, inspectors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, representing Brice Pacific professionally.
  • Utilize construction management software and digital tools (e.g., project tracking, field reporting systems) to monitor site progress, communicate changes, and update plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, and contract requirements.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations and placement of structures and equipment using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports; communicate with Construction Program Manager.
  • Assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Perform hands-on construction tasks, recommend personnel actions, arrange equipment repairs.
  • Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction activities using hand tools and equipment.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment and machinery.
  • Suggest personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, hires, terminations, disciplinary actions.
  • Perform site safety requirements on smaller projects that do not carry full-time safety personnel.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Functions:

Supervises the work of field crew and oversees project subcontractors on site.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment for heavy civil, industrial, and vertical construction.
  • Technical knowledge of vertical construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of construction, architecture and building industry standard operating practices/procedures.
  • Understanding of federal and commercial construction contracts, specifications, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EM 385-1-1, local/state codes).
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and productivity monitoring.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, quality control procedures, and environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of construction management software and digital reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, HeavyJob).
  • Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to direct field personnel, subcontractors, and multi-disciplinary crews.
  • Mentorship and coaching skills to develop field leadership and technical staff.
  • Strong supervisory skills, including the ability to effectively and constructively resolve conflict.
  • Ability to prepare, read, and understand complex contract documents, reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and general time management.
  • Analytical skills to interpret project data, monitor performance metrics, and make adjustments to maintain schedule and budget.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and calculate percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with others; ability to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Ability to travel to project sites for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to use a personal computer or laptop and knowledge of standard business and industry applications.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Who is Brice Pacific LLC looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience supervising or directing construction crews required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Products required.
  • Familiarity with federal and commercial construction contracts, specifications, and regulatory requirements required.
  • Valid state Driver’s License and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Pacific’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screenings.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design Build experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification required; EM 385-1-1 experience preferred; other safety or project management certifications a plus.

 

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Brice Pacific has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. In addition to office work, work is predominantly performed outside of the office at outdoor job sites. Outdoor conditions may be subject to changes in weather conditions and noise levels. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes, and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
