The Kuskokwim Corporation is seeking an Education & Development Faciliator for our site in Aniak, AK. The Education & Development Facilitator, under the supervision of the Shareholder Development Coordinator, provides academic instruction, GED preparation, and workforce development support to adult learners and community members. This position delivers one-on-one and small group instruction, supports career planning and employment readiness, and promotes educational and workforce programs through community outreach. The instructor plays a key role in supporting success by incorporating culturally relevant instruction, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with TKC departments, school districts, and other community partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instruction & GED Support

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies.
  • Assist learners with completion of high school coursework and preparation for GED examinations.
  • Track learner progress, provide feedback, and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support development of academic and workforce readiness skills, including time management, study strategies, and workplace expectations.
  • Utilize digital education tools and instructional platforms to enhance learning outcomes.

Workforce Development & Career Guidance

  • Meet with individuals to discuss career goals and develop individualized career and education plans.
  • Assist with resume development, job applications, and interview preparation.
  • Identify barriers to employment and connect individuals with appropriate resources and support services.
  • Facilitate career-readiness workshops and skill-building sessions with adult learners and school-aged students.
  • Monitor, document, and report individual participation in workforce development services.
  • Participate in Workforce Development and Education Round Tables as assigned.

Community Outreach & Program Development

  • Conduct outreach to TKC villages and community partners to promote educational and workforce development programs.
  • Collect, track, and analyze program data to assess effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Review programs regularly and recommend improvements based on best practices and community needs.

Collaboration & Cultural Integration

  • Communicate and coordinate with TKC departments, village partners, and Kuspuk School District.
  • Incorporate culturally relevant teaching methods and local traditions into educational programming.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, cross-department initiatives, and professional development activities.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of student attendance, progress, and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports for program evaluation, funding requirements, and management updates.
  • Stay current on adult education best practices, workforce development trends, and regional education initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, Training, Workforce Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in education, program management, or community-based training.
  • Experience in adult education, GED instruction, tutoring, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with digital learning platforms, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, virtual meeting spaces, or a willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  • Cultural awareness and willingness to incorporate community values into instruction.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and program needs.
  • Some travel in the TKC region
