Position Summary:
Serve as the team lead and Power Plant Supervisor for the local Public Electrical Utility in McGrath, AK (population ~350). This position provides direct supervision of MTNT Energy, Inc. dba McGrath Light & Power employees and oversees daily plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power generation. The Supervisor provides both technical guidance and hands-on support to power plant operators in maintaining and operating gensets, utilizing OEM software for troubleshooting, and resolving operational or power delivery issues within the distribution system. Responsibilities also include managing MTNT rental properties and cooperative agreements with state agencies such as the Alaska Department of Fish & Game and the Department of Natural Resources Hazard Fuels Mitigation program.
Education and Experience:
· Education from a technical school is desired to include generators, diesel engines, power generation, electric power distribution, relay or substation technology, etc.
· Experience with regulations of operating Public Utility.
· Experience with diesel generated power and maintenance
· Experience with Electrical Utility Power Distribution System Operations and Maintenance

Job Functions:
· Provide monthly, quarterly and annual Operation reports on McGrath Light and Power Co. to management team
· Responsible for the daily operation of the office, powerhouse and distribution operations
· Code and approve invoices for payment
· Review and implement safety procedures; lead regular safety meetings with staff.
· Manage annual fuel orders, inventory, and supply tracking and delivery
· Oversee preventive maintenance and repair of gensets, vehicles, and electrical systems; perform diagnostics using OEM software; troubleshoot and resolve issues with switchgear, transfer systems, and related components.
· Serve as the plant lead; supervise staff
· Review timecards, sign and submit (bi-weekly)
· Oversee all meter readings for electrical service
· Inspection of fuel facilities, complete required documentation
· Coordinate outage restoration, storm response, and scheduled maintenance
· Troubleshoot problems with power delivery to customer’s home or business
· Adhere to and support the MTNT Policy Manual
· Manage and maintain McGrath rental properties
· Perform other tasks as requested and assigned by management
