Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating safe and efficient day-to-day operational support relating to procurement and warehouse functions for all Koniag Energy & Water divisions.
Pay Range: $18-$21 per hour

- Performs pick-up and delivery of materials, supplies, and property from various suppliers.
- Loads and unloads material into and from a variety of containers including trucks, conveyors, racks, and/or pallets.
- Coordinates material shipment activities between buyers, suppliers, manufacturers, transportation carriers, warehouse, inventory control, project managers, and project controller.
- Make decisions regarding methods of shipment, including identifying available carrier vendor options, determining equipment requirements, doing a cost analysis of the options, negotiating costs with a focus on reducing costs.
- Proactively expedites critical project materials and equipment ensuring timely delivery to destination. Single point of contact for expediting and reporting delivery status on all project materials including receiving, unpacking, and inspecting incoming materials and equipment against invoices or bills of lading to verify items and quantities received.
- Palletizes, tags, and moves material to designated locations. Assists in the preparation of materials for shipment to field locations.
- Keeps warehouse areas clean and orderly.
- Inspect facility and grounds on a routine basis and perform maintenance where necessary to keep facility in functional and serviceable condition. Reports any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action as appropriate. Prepare cost estimates and evaluate if the needed repair is cost effective.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment ensuring good mechanical and safe operating conditions.
- Utilizes hand and power tools such as drills, power saws, routers, standard hand tools, tapes, rules, caulking irons, pipe wrenches, roller, putty knives, and paint brushes, etc.
- Responsible for warehousing of expendable and nonexpendable backup stocks according to generally accepted warehousing and safety policies and standards. Verifies that all transactions are properly reconciled, recorded, and accounted for to provide for reliable financial and statistical reports, and to maintain accountability over assets.
- Manages expendable and nonexpendable supply equipment items. Analyzes need based on such factors as usage rates, inventory, seasonal demands, and project schedules. Maintains an accurate accounting of nonexpendable property. Works with division managers to annually conduct property inventories.
- Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
- Maintain a safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all tasks, activities, and operations. Monitor work area for hazards and maintain safe working environment.
- Clear and frequent communication with operations and field staff as well as vendors.
- Resolves problems promptly with minimal adverse impact on functional operation. Reports on possible or actual work delays to supervisor.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve problems and/or deviations from normal warehouse management procedures.
- Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating a forklift and motor vehicle with a snowplow is highly desired but not required.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills that allow you to manage and prioritize several tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Effective communication and follow through on tasks is critical.
- Must be able to work independently and make independent judgements as well as part of a team on a broad variety of projects.
- Ability to effectively speak, write and read English. Communicate effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the phone.
- Possess good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Willingness to work additional or flexible hours when necessary to meet tight deadlines.

Working Environment & Conditions
Work is typically performed within a warehouse environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust. Some work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment. Working environment temperature will vary from -10F to 75F, depending on location and/or season. During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the warehouse floor, and potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of vehicles and trailers, etc.
