KUAC at the University of Alaska Fairbanks seeks an experienced FM broadcaster. This position has the dual functions of Operations & Traffic Coordinator and Radio Host. You would be working with state-of the-art broadcast studio equipment and traffic software. All applicants need to pay particular attention to the special instructions noted below.

Comprehensive knowledge of radio broadcast operations, media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods. Advanced demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of broadcast media equipment including computer automation systems, digital editing software, digital routing switchers, broadcast consoles, etc. Excellent radio announcing and board operating skills. Knowledge of industry rules and regulations for public broadcasting from the Federal Communications Commission. Highly effective time management skills, attention to detail and communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience working in a deadline-oriented environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, media or related field, and three years related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities for this position:
Experience with broadcast writing and delivery, use of computer database programs, experience with automation systems, understanding of public radio station operations and best practices. Experience with ProTrack or other radio broadcast scheduling software. Previous experience working with and training volunteers.
3 years experience working at a broadcast radio station or relevant equivalent work experience.

Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
