Trainer- UAA Child Welfare Academy

The UAA Child Welfare Academy (CWA) trains and develops professional workers who work with Alaska's children and families to assure children are safe and families are strong.

 

This position will provide state of the art training and staff development to new and existing State of Alaska Office of Children's Services (OCS) professional protective services workers, including supervisors and managers, and partner agencies (law enforcement, child welfare agencies, early childhood and tribal partners) throughout Alaska.

 

To thrive in this position, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the OCS practice model. They will need to be adaptable to change and be able to think critically about how they will manage change. They must value teamwork and the ability to collaborate with peers. They also need to be open to new learning and feedback from all levels: supervisors, peers, and the learners we instruct.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Master of Social Work (MSW) or Master's degree in related field with three years of child welfare experience or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field with four years of child welfare experience with one of those years in supervision of child welfare.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid/remote work arrangements within the state of Alaska may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a term-funded, full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 81, based on education and experience.

 

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
