AEF Scholarship Coordinator

Under the general direction of the Arctic Education Foundation (AEF) Director, the Scholarship Coordinator is responsible for the processing and coordination of AEF scholarships. This position supports the AEF Director and Administrator by processing scholarship awards, traveling and coordinating student outreach, providing scholarship reporting, and supporting all fundraising events. Works closely with students and communities to educate them on scholarships, short-term training funding, and cultural program opportunities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Good administrative and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation. Ability to prepare clear and accurate business reports, correspondence, and process and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from AEF Directors, groups of managers, educational institutions, applicants, prospective donors, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent is frequently required to talk, hear, walk, and see. The job may occasionally require the handling of objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounter while performing the essential functions of this position. Work is typically performed in an office setting and is sedentary in nature. The incumbent is occasionally required to travel in small and large commercial fixed-wing aircraft in diverse weather conditions to remote locations.
