Summary:
Under direct supervision, the FaNS Operator is responsible for handling inbound and/or outbound calls, providing information about products or services, resolving customer issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
Answer calls promptly and professionally, listen attentively to inquiries, and provide accurate information. Resolve customer issues with empathy and efficiency, process orders and requests, and document all interactions in the food service software. Meet performance metrics such as call handling time, customer satisfaction, and accuracy, while making outbound calls for follow-up or surveys.
Stay current on product knowledge, company policies, and procedures. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance expertise and align with ANTHC’s mission and vision.
Follow company policies, including data privacy and security guidelines, to ensure compliance and operational integrity, supporting ANTHC’s goals.
Collaborate and support the Food and Nutrition Services team by cross-training in other areas, managing medical food and supplement inventory, and meeting with patients to discuss meal orders, ensuring department efficiency.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions, representing ANTHC’s values and fostering trust with customers, patients, and colleagues. This professionalism is vital for ensuring that all stakeholders feel valued and respected in their interactions with the Food and Nutrition Services team.
Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Alaska Tribal Health System, ANTHC, and Alaska Native culture(s).
Knowledge of customer services concepts and practices Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations.
Knowledge of filing procedures.
Skill in operating office equipment.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to use multi-line telephone and other standard office equipment and software.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory - One (1) year of work experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
Food Worker Card within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Some college education or associate degree preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Experience in call center, food service, or healthcare environment.
