The Native Village of Eklutna is dedicated to empowering Idlughet Qayeht’ana (Eklutna Village Dena’ina) by promoting our sovereign nation's history, culture, and identity while advancing the education and well-being of our Tribe.

Compensation: $17.00-$20.00 DOE

The Role: The Receptionist will work under the direct supervision of the Tribal Administrator or their designee. The Receptionist is responsible for people’s first impression of the tribe; they provide primary telephone coverage on a multiline system, respond to initial inquiries, provide support to staff and tribal members, and maintain systems to ensure smooth administrative functions, including but not limited to desktop publishing, filing, special projects, and other duties as assigned to support the administrative office. The Receptionist will portray professional behavior for the purpose of working with the public, in-house programs, outside agencies, and other Native organizations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a receptionist or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the socio-cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community. Knowledge of Eklutna’s history is a plus.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory report from a state and federal background check.
