Afognak Native Corporation has an opportunity for an Administrative Assistant located at our corporate office in Anchorage, Alaska. The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist reports to the Executive Assistant. The Administrative Assistant functions as the primary administrative support for the Anchorage Facility.

  • Greet guests, answer and direct incoming calls in professional and courteous manner.
  • Take and receive messages as needed or directed by staff.
  • Provide callers with basic corporate information such as company address, directions to locations, fax, website, etc.
  • Ensure coffee and water is always available for guests during normal business hours.
  • Keep the reception area clean and free of clutter, remove any outdated brochures and reading material from the lobby.
  • Maintain the corporate calendar and conference room schedules.
  • Keep conference rooms clean and presentable, inspecting them on a regular basis to prepare for all meetings.
  • Maintain floor map for all Alutiiq Center employees.
  • Code and process all invoices related to the Alutiiq Center.
  • Process and distribute both incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all checks are date stamped, scanned and entered into the check log.
  • Notify recipients and distribute faxes in a timely manner.
  • Maintain facility supplies for both the office and break room ensuring all are organized in a consistent manner.
  • Provide administrative support to all departments as requested, including but not limited to; shredding, typing correspondence, performing data entry, sending faxes, preparing and mailing packages, copying, filing, and making phone calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Payrate: $17.85 to $22.31 Hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in all aspects of administrative support.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to communicate with the public in a professional and courteous manner and handle difficult situations.
  • Must adhere to the Corporation’s confidentiality policy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Adobe Professional and the ability to exercise strength in internet research projects.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
