POSITION DESCRIPTION: PROCUREMENT SPECIALST BUYER

Reports to:  Staffing Program Manager

Position Summary:

This position performs a wide range of purchasing activities in support of the procurement department.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Determine that prices are fair and reasonable and perform cost analysis.
  • Analyze Purchase Requisitions (PR) for appropriate authorization level, specifications, shipping, and delivery requirements.
  • Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ).
  • Administer Purchase Orders (PO) used to purchase material, equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Provide general support and expertise as requested.
  • Adhere to Alyeska’s Pipeline and Chugach Alaska Services policies, procedures, regulations, and code of conduct.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

 

Mandatory Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or similar.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Experience with procuring, sourcing, and negotiating the buying of material, equipment, tools and supplies.
  • Experience using automated purchasing and maintenance management systems.
  • Current Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous TAPS experience.
