Job Summary:
TecPro is seeking a Security Technician to join our growing team. Security Technicians install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair security solutions and software systems. These individuals also provide technical advice and support to system users.

Security Technicians work under Lead Security Technicians on multiple projects and are responsible for executing installations according to company standards, ensuring the customer is trained and satisfied with system function and performance.

Security Technicians represent the company as confident, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional with customers and within the community.

 

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Installation Teams on security projects. Tasks include, but are not limited to: pulling & terminating cable/wire, mounting & configuring devices, operating equipment (e.g., man-lift or bucket truck), and performing hands-on work
  • Coordinate personal and project tasks and timelines with team(s)
  • Obtain product-related certifications and maintain up-to-date product knowledge
  • Assist with system installation and provide support to installers
  • Assist in resolving trouble tickets & support calls
  • Maintain personal deadlines in conjunction with comprehensive project schedules
  • Ensure quality and timely completion of projects and tasks
  • Travel throughout Alaska and the Continental US for integration assignments as needed
  • Visit installation locations to assist with installation as necessary
  • Install system hardware and components, such as computers, monitors, network components, CCTV/security cameras (IP-based primarily), alarm systems (intrusion alarm), access control, and fire alarm systems
  • Install and configure software packages such as access control platforms, intrusion panel firmware updates, camera updates, and video management system updates as required
  • Assist in customizing and adapting existing programs to meet users’ needs
  • Conduct customer training for installed systems
  • Support Sales and Estimation teams with project estimation, walk-throughs, quotes, and proposals as needed
  • Maintain and secure all project information accurately
  • Provide excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with customers in person, on the phone, and via email
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be an energetic team player with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Personal determination and a willingness to tackle daily challenges head-on
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Strong personal time management and task execution skills
  • Security & Networking Certifications are a plus (e.g., NICET Video & Fire Alarm, A+, N+, CCNA, Manufacturer Training/Certifications, etc.)
  • Experience in construction or fieldwork is preferred
  • 1+ year of experience working with network equipment, network and wire standards is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Experience in system implementation, software support, or installation is a plus
  • Understanding of intrusion systems, electronic access control, CCTV, IP video, and surveillance systems is preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including software, networking, and system components understanding
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier
  • Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Working Environment & Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office environment, with a noise level mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or tools, and talk and hear. Some lifting, up to 25 lbs, may be required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

 

Office Location and Travel:
This position is based in Wasilla, AK.
Minimal travel may be required depending on client location.
