General Function
In alignment with CIRI’s mission and values responsible for accounting and reporting related to assigned industries/affiliates within the CIRI and the CIRI Settlement Trust (“CIRI”) structures. Support as assigned for CIRI’s overall accounting and reporting requirements.
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
- Responsible for daily, monthly and annual accounting for designated industries and/or affiliates of CIRI, including, but not limited to government services and the marketable securities portfolio. Procedures include recording monthly operating results and recurring entries, reviewing coding on invoices, reviewing monthly transaction registers, reconciling general ledger accounts and review of monthly financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of all internal and external reports including monthly financial statements, quarterly consolidations, and year-end financial statements. Assist with various other reporting and analysis across all CIRI's diverse business segments.
- Maintain and update reporting functionality within available software tools to assist management with strategic decision making.
- Coordinate with the Tax Department on month-end, budgetary and projection-related deliverables.
- Prepare schedules and work papers for the annual financial statement audits of CIRI and subsidiaries.
- Assist with annual budget compilation.
- Assist with all forecasts and projections.
- Monitor and report on budget-to-actual performance on designated projects and operations, research variances from budget.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.

- Intermediate accounting knowledge and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to perform related work.

Minimum Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field
- Major in Accounting/Finance
- two or more years of public accounting experience; or
- five or more years of progressive accounting experience
- Other business majors
- two or more years of public accounting experience
- eight or more years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Ability to pass a background screening
