UAS Sitka Campus is seeking a Welding Lab Assistant to support the operations of a welding lab. This full-time, 10-month, benefited position is term funded through May 17, 2025. An unrestricted Alaska driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.
To be successful in this position you will have knowledge of welding equipment / processes and organizational skills to coordinate efforts with faculty to ensure supplies, materials and equipment are available and prepped for teaching sessions. Maintaining a clean, safe environment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment is essential. Working cooperatively with others and having an interest in assisting students with their learning is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Vocational training in welding or related trade. An unrestricted Alaska driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.
Prior experience in a welding shop or similar environment is preferred.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Sitka Campus of UAS. This is a full-time, 10-month, term-funded non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
Starting salary is $22.98/hour or higher depending on experience.
