Thompson & Co. is looking for an entry-level design coordinator to join its award-winning public
relations team, headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. This full-time, in-office position will join a
team of creative and innovative communication professionals who share a commitment to T&C’s
positive work culture and company values. Design work will influence and strengthen many of
Alaska’s leading brands across industries including travel and tourism, technology, economic
development, education, and health care.
Job summary:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join the digital team at
Thompson & Co. In this role, you will assist in the creation and design of various marketing
materials, including digital graphics, print advertisements, social media content, and more. As
Design Coordinator, you will work closely with our Art Director to collaborate with various teams
across the agency to bring concepts to life, ensuring all designs meet our brand standards and
client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting agency’s Art Director in graphic design projects.
• Creating digital and print graphics for agency clients ranging from annual corporate
reports to social media graphics to digital ads to posters and more.
• Working with all teams across the agency for any graphic design needs.
• Follow project timelines to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of design.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance overall
design quality.
• Adapt existing designs and templates to fit specific project needs.
• Preparing finished art and working with printer or distributor to finalize.
Requirements:
• 0-2 years of experience in a graphic design role.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience as freelance or in-house if self-taught.
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
• Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
• After Effects or other animation experience is a bonus but not required.
• High-level communication skills to interpret client and agency needs.
• Understanding of marketing, production, corporate identity, and multi-media design.
• Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
• Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
