Grand Aleutian Food & Beverage Supervisor

Basic Function:

Responsible for overall direction and control of Grand Aleutian Hotel Food and Beverage outlets and banquets.  Ensure guest satisfaction and maintain good working relationships with employees.  Facilitate business growth in food and beverage outlets.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure all sales of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and food follow federal, state, and local laws and ensure that all staff members have knowledge of and comply with these laws. Ensure proper posting of all required licenses and permits pertaining to the bar and grill. Ensure that professional and responsible liquor service procedures are always followed. Ongoing training in this area is mandatory.
  • Schedule staff to accommodate flow of business. Assure adequate staffing during heavy volume periods.  Supervise and train employees.  Counsel and coach employees as needed.
  • Plan and organize all banquet functions with customers. Coordinate menu with Chef and schedule proper staff to achieve successful events. Coordinate with Public Attendants for proper setup of banquet spaces.
  • Maintain the highest standards in service, appearance, system control, food handling, sanitation procedures and portion control at all times
  • Coordinate all outlet monthly food and alcohol inventories.
  • Purchase F&B supplies, etc. being mindful of shipping rates. Coordinate with bookkeeper on payment of all purchases including entertainment.
  • Maintain vending machines. Perform monthly collections from machines.
  • Assist in supervising cash register drawer changes and reconciliations of cash
  • Plan and organize promotions and events, eg. Valentine’s Day, wine tastings
  • Coordinate the overall cleanliness of food and beverage outlets with housekeeping. Coordinate the repair, upkeep and improvements of outlet with Facilities Maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Grand Aleutian Food and Beverage team to cover management vacations
  • Maintain safe working environment according to company policy
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements:

  •  High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of college or vocational degree
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant industry
  • Must have 2 years of management experience
  • Alaska Food Handlers Permit and Safe Serv required
  • Must be TIPS certified to sell alcohol
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with diverse cultures in a team environment

This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $21.10 – $27.45 per hour.
