The Campus Services division within Administrative Services brings together UAA's portfolio of revenue generating enterprises: Parking Services; Housing Facilities and Finance; Campus Dining; Event Services (which includes the Wendy Williamson Auditorium); the Alaska Airlines Center and Avis Alaska Sports Complex; the UAA ecommerce textbook store; and the Campus Gearshop.

 

Campus Services generates approximately $14.2 million in annual gross revenue, and provides accountability and oversight of another $4 million in annual contracted dining and textbook revenue. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to extract, analyze, interpret, compile reports, and explain data is the essence of this position.

 

The successful candidate will encompass the below skills and abilities:

 

Knowledge of accounting system functions or procedures (e.g. accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, program and activity codes).

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply fiscal and purchasing policies, rules and regulations.

Knowledge of general office procedures including word processing, database management, filing, answering multi-line telephones and prioritizing workload.

Knowledge of the university environment, computer literacy, project planning and development, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to excellent customer service.

Strong knowledge of general office software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and Acrobat Pro).

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work as part of a team as well as manage multiple tasks and use independent judgement in analyzing and resolving problems.

Ability to evaluate and monitor projects, think analytically, and problem solve.

Ability to work with diverse populations.

Ability to learn Banner Student and Banner Finance.

Current knowledge of FERPA and Title IX.

 

This position serves as the Human Resource Coordinator for Campus Services and provides support to the Senior Fiscal Officer with financial tasks.

 

To thrive in this role as an Administrative/Fiscal Coordinator for Campus Services, the successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in an office or administrative environment; basic knowledge of accounting systems; exceptional organizational and attention to detail skills; ability to learn and apply University fiscal, purchasing, and travel policies, rules, and regulations; strong background in customer service; ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population; strong problem solving skills; demonstrated knowledge of payroll and personnel procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Associate's degree in applied Accounting or related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

FERPA certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

Title IX certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

Behavior Based Safety (BBS) certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

Workplace Harassment Prevention certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date.

PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance or compliance completion within 30 days of the job start date.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a Term-Funded, full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
