Your typical workday might include installing, configuring server hardware and storage, installing, upgrading, configuration operating systems and software applications, troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions, overseeing the data environment, and researching and recommending solutions. No work day is ever the same.

To excel in this position, you will need a strong technical background managing an enterprise server environment that includes Windows, Active Directory, Windows services and server virtualization. A successful candidate must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Working with different user groups and technical teams will require a commitment to collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information system or related field with 3-5 years managing an enterprise server environment, professional programming experience preferably with C, C++ and/or Perl and systems analysis along with systems design and development experience. Ten years of directly applicable professional experience may substitute for the degree.

Position Details:

The position is on-site at the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
