The successful candidate will be technically proficient with a strong understanding of system engineering principles, methodologies, and technologies. You will be adaptable to changes, whether they are related to technological advancements, shifts in organizational priorities, or evolving educational trends utilizing excellent problem-solving to address technical challenges and obstacles that may arise during development, using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to find effective solutions. In your role, you will use excellent written and verbal communication skills, committed to working within a purpose-focused culture of accontability where you own your results as you build and maintain strong relationships with technical and non-technical colleagues throughout the organization. You will need to understand stakeholder engagement and ensure success and be a capable change agent: recognizing the need for change, initiating value-add change campaigns, and monitoring success and effectiveness with continual improvement and Lean methodologies. You will need to demonstrate a proven ability to gather, summarize, and articulate technical concepts for strategic and tactical decision-making with the ability to structure and implement practical support processes and workflows. You will be relied upon to to manage multiple projects, adapt and react quickly to changing situations, and achieve aligned results with minimal supervision.

 

To thrive in this management role, you have a proven track record of building and leading high-performing technology teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture that encourages innovation and excellence. You assess, plan and implement improvements of technology systems, platforms, processes, and applications, ensuring they align with objectives. You mentor and provide expert guidance fostering knowledge-sharing to build expertise among department application administrators and super users. You champion strategic planning for technology evolution, balancing innovation and creativity with standards and best practices. You achieve results by working across boundaries and collaborating with cross-functional teams, academic departments, and key stakeholders to understand their technology needs and align solutions with UA's goals. You use lean concepts to promote a culture of continual improvement, identifying opportunities for optimization, efficiency, and effectiveness.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field and seven years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be accepted.

 

A valid Driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

 

Ability to travel on occasion as needed.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on-site at the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 84 IS Professional 4, based on education and experience.
