The Institute of Arctic Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking a motivated individual to join our business team in helping to serve our faculty, staff and students in the role of Procurement & Property Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and exciting administrative team focused on assisting our researchers in solving ecological, wildlife, and biomedical issues.IAB serves over 150 faculty and staff supporting research throughout Alaska. As the Procurement and Property Officer, you will be responsible for procurement support and property management.

This position plays a vital role in administrative support duties that requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. You'll be relied upon daily for the procurement of goods and services through credit card and purchase orders, process invoices for payment, ship and receive orders, interpret regulations, and manage tagged property. You'll also be relied upon to communicate with vendors, review service contracts, check out equipment, and assist with the annual inventory.

To thrive in this role, you must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate and interact with a diverse community. Understanding UA procurement regulations in a research environment is a plus. You should be proficient with using financial databases, such as Banner, and have experience using spreadsheets and creating forms.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate's degree in relevant field and three years of public procurement, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess current UA Procurement Technician (PT) delegation or the ability to obtain UA PT authority through on the job training.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
