The Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB) is seeking a full-time Grant Manger to join our Business Office. IAB serves over 50 principal investigators engaged in research throughout Alaska which is supported by federal, state, and other external funding sources. As a Grant Manager, you will be responsible for post-award support, working closely with IAB researchers and UAF Central Offices.

This position performs a wide variety of complex administrative support duties that require independence and problem-solving skills. Your role is imperative to the success of research at IAB! You will be responsible for managing projects from award set up to close out. You'll be relied upon daily to review budgets, provide spending projections, interpret regulations, reconcile expenditures, and interact with other units. You'll also be relied upon to compile financial reports, certify effort, process budget revisions, and monitor match funds.

To flourish in this role, you must be a team-player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to see tasks through to a timely completion is essential. You should be proficient with using financial databases, such as Banner or QuickBooks, and have experience using complex spreadsheets.

IAB supports a flexible work environment and provides professional development and career growth through UA coursework, attending national conferences, virtual workshops, or professional certification training such as Certified Research Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 1 year of college coursework in business, accounting or similar field; or at least 2 years experience in a lower level fiscal technician position or equivalent experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt, term-funded staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
