Are you interested in building experience in communications, data management, public relations or marketing? The Office of Admissions is hiring a Communications Center Student Assistant. The ideal candidate works well in groups or independently, and is detail-oriented and self-motivated. If this sounds like you, please apply!

 

This position functions to serve the overall communication efforts of the Office of Admissions. Student assistants will assist in sending acceptance letters and mailing campaigns to current and prospective students, help maintain data integrity, and assist in overall marketing efforts in the recruitment of students.

 

To thrive in this role, applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively, operate a computer and standard office equipment, possess good work ethic, and work well with others and independently

 

Applicants should be comfortable with Google Suite or MS Office Suite, internet research, filing and customer service. Applicants should also be able to work independently, have organization and time management skills, oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to analyze data, locate errors, make updates and obtain clarification on questionable records. Applicants should also have the ability to interpret rules and procedures and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

 

Entry level familiarity with computers and working in teams in either a previous job or school setting.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or equivalent.

Current student of University of Alaska with a GPA of 2.00 or higher.

 

Position Details:

 

Salary Information:

This is a student position. The position will pay at $16.00 an hour.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year and students may apply for the position all year. When departments need to fill a position, they review the current “pool” and call students for interviews. Students who were not hired for one position still remain in the pool for other positions.
